K2 is one of the second highest peak in the world situated in the Karakoram Range lies between the bordering parts of Pakistan and China. K2 is the highest peak of Pakistan and located on the China-Pakistan border between Baltistan in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. K2 is also known as “Mount Godwin-Austen” and in Balti language known as “Chogori” which means the king of mountains. The trekkers begin their journey with a flight to Skardu from Islamabad or can drive to Skardu. This tour to Skardu provides a stunning and beautiful view of Karakoram mountain range including Nanga Parbat. From Skardu the trekkers have to cross Shigar valley, which is quite green and fertile that takes to Askole. Then on the walking distance, up to the Baltoro glacier, they can see the amazing views of Masherbrum, K2, Broad Peak and lots of other peaks. There is Baltoro glacier on further walking which is extremely dangerous. After a long distance, there is Concordia, which is basically the intersection of Baltoro and Godwin Austin Glaciers and it is a place mostly used as a base for the four goliaths of the Karakorum that are Hidden Peak or Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Broad Peak, and K2.

Beauty of Hunza Valley - Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan

Hunza was previously a princely state which survived until 1974 and was dissolved by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Its capital was the town of Baltit also known as Karimabad.

The climate of Hunza is moderate in summer. The maximum temperature in summer is about 14-degree Celsius but in July-august it reaches a maximum of 31-degree Celsius in central Hunza. In the winter season, the temperature reaches to -10-degree Celsius or even more.
The people of Hunza are quite friendly, cooperative and hospitable. Generally, people of Hunza speak Urdu language but some other languages are also being spoken such as Shina, Wakhi, and Burushaski.

The Hunza valley is popular for its snow-capped and rough mountains. Many people came to Hunza just to get a few glimpses of the shining ice wall of the Rakaposhi Mountain. Other popular mountains in Hunza include Passu Peak, Ultar Peak and Kuksel Sar.
